Privacy Policy

This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies. It collects personal information only when you choose to send it.

This notice describes what this website actually does, not what a website of this kind usually does. Each statement below was checked against the code that runs the site. The firm named in the footer of every page is responsible for this website and for the information sent through it.

No cookies. This website writes no cookie of any kind, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to ask you about. The one preference the site remembers, whether you are reading it in the light or the dark theme, is kept by your own browser on your own device and is never sent to the server. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Nothing is loaded from anyone else. There is no analytics service from another company, no advertising or tracking pixel, no social media widget, no embedded map and no font served from somewhere else. Every file a page needs comes from the same server that serves the page. No other company learns that you were here, or which page you were reading.

No visitor statistics are collected. The site counts no page views, builds no profile of you and measures nothing about your visit. The software behind the site does include a statistics feature that would run on this same server, set no cookie and shorten every network address before storing it. It is switched off, and if it is ever switched on this page will be updated to say so.

The web server keeps a technical log, as every web server does. The hosting company records the requests its server answers: the address of the device that asked, the page asked for, the time and the answer given. That log exists so that faults and abuse can be traced. It is not used to build a picture of you.

What the consultation form asks for. Your name, an email address, a phone number if you choose to give one, the kind of matter, and what you write in the message box. The message box is a free-text box: whatever you type is stored exactly as you typed it.

What is recorded alongside it. The language of the page you were on; the address your device had on the network, with its last part removed so that it no longer points at a single connection; the identification string your browser sends about itself; and the address of the page you came from. Nothing else is added.

What booking a consultation records. Your name, and an email address and a phone number if you want a confirmation, together with the day and the time you chose. It also records the network address the booking came from, with its last part removed — exactly as the consultation form does.

There is no file upload anywhere on this website. No page accepts an attachment of any kind. That is a decision, not an omission: a document sent to a law office through a public form, by someone whose identity has not been established, is the last thing such an office should collect. Documents belong in a consultation.

Please keep the detail of your case out of the form. What you write is stored as plain text in the site admin panel and is copied into an email to the office. Everyone who can open that panel can read the whole message; there is no way to show part of a message to some staff and hide it from others. The number of people with access is kept small, and that is the protection there is. Send us enough to call you back. The rest belongs in the consultation.

Where it goes. The message is saved in a database file on the same server as the website, outside the area the web can reach, and a notification is sent by email to the office. Email is not encrypted from end to end, and it travels through the mail provider that carries the office mail, like any other email. If you book a consultation and give an email address, you also receive a confirmation.

How long it is kept. Messages and bookings stay until someone at the office deletes them; there is no timer that removes them on its own. The site also keeps an activity log of its own, which records that a message arrived and the email address it came from; entries in that log are removed automatically after one year.

A short record of network addresses is kept as well, to stop the forms being flooded. It holds the address a submission came from and the time, nothing else, and it is cleared automatically within hours.

What you can ask for. You can ask what the firm holds about you, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the office through the contact page, from the address you used, and say which of these you are asking for.

What deleting can and cannot reach. Deleting a message removes it from the live database. It cannot reach two other places, and this notice says so rather than leaving it out. The first is email that has already been delivered: a copy sits in the office mailbox and in any mailbox it was forwarded to, and it has to be deleted there as well. The second is backups: a backup taken before you asked still holds the earlier version of the record, and keeps it until that backup is rotated out of the set. A promise of complete erasure would not be true, so it is not made here.

Security. The database files sit outside the part of the server the web can reach. The admin panel is password protected and access to it is given to as few people as possible. No system is completely secure, and nothing here is a promise that this one is.

Changes. If what the site does changes, this page changes with it.
